WALKER RULED OUT

Monday August 06, 2018
BIRMINGHAM will be without Callum Walker for their next two meetings.

The 19-year-old was ruled out of last Wednesday’s home clash with Cradley through illness.

And he has now taken doctors’ advice who have told him to rest due to ongoing health issues.

With Leon Flint also sidelined with hand and wrist injuries, Edwards Plumbing Brummies’ bosses have moved quickly to secure guests for this Wednesday’s home meeting with Kent (August 8, 7.30) as well as Sunday’s trip to Coventry (August 12, 3pm).

Team manager Laurence Rogers explained: “Callum hasn’t been feeling himself for a while now and he’s taken a lot on.

“He works full-time, he’s got his speedway commitments and he also competes on the grass too.

“It’s been pretty hectic for him over the past couple of months; he’s had to take a couple of trips to the doctors over the past few weeks and they’ve now advised him to rest because the lad is exhausted.

“It’s also flared up the asthma he suffers badly with too and that’s something else they’re currently monitoring.

“He’s been off work and it’s clear the lad just needs time to rest – once he feels more like his old self and he gets the green light, he’ll be back in the side and it will be good to have a refreshed Callum in the team.

“We all send Callum our best wishes and in the meantime we’ve booked Danny Ayres to guest at home to Kent on Wednesday against his old club and Ben Morley will ride for us at Coventry on Sunday.”
