BUXTON v BRUMMIES, PREVIEW

Saturday April 28, 2018
BIRMINGHAM boss Laurence Rogers is hopeful his side can make it two out of two in the National Trophy when they travel to Buxton on Sunday (3pm).

The Edwards Plumbing Brummies secured a wonderful 57-33 win at Stoke in the competition last weekend with three riders going unbeaten by an opponent.

Add that to challenge victories over Kent and Coventry and it's been a positive start to the campaign for the Perry Barr outfit.

Rogers is keen to carry momentum forward but says the Brummies won't be underestimating their opponents at the Hi-Edge Raceway.

"I do think Buxton are weaker having to use rider replacement instead of David Wallinger, but having said that we've still got a job to do," he said.

"It's been a good, solid start to the season for the boys and we'd all obviously love to keep our unbeaten start going."

Reserve Arran Butcher will miss the trip after sustaining tendon and muscle damage around his elbow in a spill against Kent on Wednesday.
Local lad James Chattin has been booked to guest in his place.

BUXTON: Ben Wilson, David Wallinger r/r, Corban Pavitt, Tom Woolley, Connor Coles, Kieran Douglas, Lewis Whitmore.

BIRMINGHAM: Tom Bacon, Layne Cupitt, Mitchell Davey, Callum Walker, Danyon Hume, James Chattin, Leon Flint.
