PLYMOUTH v BRUMMIES, PREVIEW

Thursday September 14, 2017
BIRMINGHAM travel to Plymouth on Friday for their final regular league fixture of the season (7.15).

The Surestop Brummies head to the South Coast knowing they need a win to keep their outside play-off hopes alive.

But their task has been made that little bit harder with the news that captain Jack Parkinson-Blackburn has been ruled out with a shoulder problem.

Team Manager Graham Drury said: “It’s very frustrating to be without or No.1 for our last match of the season but there’s nothing we can do about it really.

“He crashed in the Czech Republic a few weeks ago and is still struggling with his shoulder.

“It still hasn’t healed properly and he’ll miss the meeting at Plymouth.

“I’ve booked Belle Vue’s Rob Shuttleworth to guest in his place and we thank Rob for standing in at relatively short notice.

“Plymouth have had an excellent home record since they somehow managed to get Adam Roynon into their team on a false, inaccurate average and he’s helped transform their season a little.

“But hopefully we can go there and end our league fixtures on some sort of high, positive note.”

With Kyle Roberts still also sidelined, Alex Spooner has been handed another guest booking at reserve.

PLYMOUTH: Adam Roynon, Richard Andrews, Benji Compton, Callum Walker, Steve Boxall, Jamie Halder, Henry Atkins.

BIRMINGHAM: Rob Shuttleworth, Layne Cupitt, David Mason, Tom Bacon, Liam Carr, Alex Spooner, Taylor Hampshire.
