BIRMINGHAM have been boosted by the return of David Mason and Layne Cupitt ahead of Wednesday’s home Travel Plus National League fixture against Stoke (7.30).

The duo missed Sunday’s defeat at Mildenhall but have recovered from injury and illness respectively.

With Kyle Roberts still sidelined though, boss Graham Drury has once again booked Lewis Whitmore to guest at reserve.

And with Tom Bacon free of Championship commitments as well, Drury is keen to see his side return to winning ways.

“We were obviously bitterly disappointed with how things went at the weekend but we’re more-or-less back to a full side now so we have to put Sunday’s match against Mildenhall behind us,” Drury said.

“It will be good to have Tom back in the heat-leader role alongside Jack (Parkinson-Blackburn) and Liam (Carr) who will both be desperate to return to the form we know they’re capable of on Wednesday.

“I’ve given Lewis Whitmore another opportunity – Sunday’s was a tough meeting to judge anything by but he gets on well with Taylor (Hampshire) and it will be another chance for him to get some laps under his belt and show what he can do.

“Stoke have already beaten us once this season so we know we can’t take anything for granted.

“But we’re hungry for the win and hopefully we can send our supporters home happy with another three points in the bag.”
