BIRMINGHAM Brummies Speedway can confirm that Cradley Heathens will stage some of their league meetings at Perry Barr Stadium in 2017.

The two Midlands sides shared the Aldridge Road venue in 2015, before the Heathens reverted back to their adopted home of Monmore Green in Wolverhampton in 2016.

While Cradley will race the majority of their meetings at Monmore next year, they will also run some of their fixtures from Perry Barr.

Birmingham owner Tony Mole said: "We are pleased to be able to accommodate the Cradley Heathens at Perry Barr in 2017 and we are glad to help keep our rivals on track once again.

"With an increase in the amount of top flight meetings for Wolverhampton, that decreased the availability of Monmore Green Stadium for the Heathens.

"Therefore, it means a handful of their fixtures will be staged at Perry Barr in order to help them fulfil their fixtures and therefore keep them on track in 2017.

"With Birmingham not expecting to run as often and as regularly next year, this keeps the frequency of speedway racing going for local spectators at Perry Barr.

"We now look forward to the National League AGM, which is scheduled for December 13, and we will keep our supporters updated from there on in."
